Filomena is open Tuesday to Sunday, 6pm to 10pm. Monday closed.

Filomena is closed for the summer holidays. We reopen Tuesday 1 September, 6pm to 10pm.

Come by · The villages

Ten minutes away, and you still go to the same three places.

Oroklini, Livadia, Aradippou, Pyla. Everybody out here has a rotation, and everybody knows it.

Nothing wrong with you

A short drive is the hardest kind to be bothered with.

It is a strange thing about living just outside a town: fifteen minutes feels further than it is, because it is long enough to need a decision and short enough that you feel silly making one.

So people end up rotating three places within walking distance, for years. That is not a failure of curiosity, it is just friction.

This page exists to remove one small piece of it. We are in town, we open at six, you do not need to book, and you will be home by half past ten.

From where you are

None of it is far.

Livadia is effectively part of Larnaca — a suburb of about seven thousand people that runs into the town itself. From there it is a few minutes.

Oroklini is a little further along, up behind the coast road, and has grown fast: about seven and a half thousand people at the last census, with the largest foreign-born group being British.

Aradippou is the biggest of them, a town of nearly twenty thousand on the inland edge of Larnaca, and it is a straight run in.

Pyla sits east, out past the Dhekelia road, and is one of only four villages inside the UN buffer zone. It is the furthest of the four and still under twenty minutes.

The practical bit

Tuesday is the good night.

We stop at a hundred pizzas a day, which means Friday and Saturday can run out before the evening does. Midweek there is dough, there are tables, and there is somebody with time to tell you what is open by the glass.

If you are driving, one glass rather than a bottle. The list is short and it moves, so asking is better than reading.

Street parking is around the block and easier after eight.

Come in on a Tuesday.

Six until ten, Tuesday to Sunday, closed Mondays. It is fifteen minutes. You have driven further for worse.

Straight answers

The things people actually ask.

Q.How far is Larnaca town from Oroklini and Pyla?

Livadia runs straight into Larnaca and is a few minutes away. Oroklini and Aradippou are roughly ten minutes from the town centre, and Pyla, further east past the Dhekelia road, is under twenty.

Q.Is there parking near the restaurant?

There is street parking around the block from 1 Aristotelous. It is noticeably easier after eight in the evening than at six.

Q.Which night is quietest?

Midweek. Filomena makes a maximum of one hundred pizzas a day and can reach that ceiling on Friday and Saturday evenings, so Tuesday to Thursday is the reliable time to arrive without planning around it.
